The Vancouver and New York Rangers combined for a blockbuster trade on Friday that saw J.T. Miller and Erik Brannstrom go over to the New York Rangers for Filip Chytil, top defense prospect Victor Mancini and a 1st-round draft pick, nut there is a reason why Miller chose the Rangers.

Amid all of the drama and issues J.T. Miller went through as a member of the Vancouver Canucks, so it was a best bet that he was not going to go a to team where he felt that that type of situation would happen again.
There were many reasons why he decided to waive his no-move clause to be a member of the New York Rangers, but there is one glaring reason why.
His childhood best friend and minor league teammate Vincent Trocheck is a forward on the Rangers and they both revealed that it was a dream for them to be able to play on the same NHL team one day.
Miller spoke to the media about what it means to be reunited with Trocheck.
You can get a sense that J.T. Miller isn't taking his second stint with #NYR for granted, especially because he gets to play with his bestfriend, Vinny Trocheck.

Trocheck also commented on when he found out that Miller was going to join him on the Rangers and got emotional while holding back tears describing what it means to him.
«He's my best friend in the world,» Trocheck said, of getting word on Friday night that Miller had been traded from the Vancouver Canucks to his Rangers. «I think this had been a pipe dream for -- 10 years in the making, I feel like. Obviously came in the League around the same time. Grew up since we were nine years old together, live about 500 yards from each other back in Pittsburgh. Our kids are really close.»

«I'm sorry,» he said, voice breaking. «This is embarrassing. But we've been talking about it forever. It means a lot. It's just a cool experience to be able to play with your best friend in the NHL.»

Shorty after the trade commenced, you can tell what these two mean to each other as Trocheck sharked an Instagram story of his daughter hugging Miller captioned with a heart emoji.

Even though he is gone, it is amazing that Miller will be in an environment where he feels comfortable and happy, which will only add to the passion and production on the ice.
