After an insane start with the New Rangers, scoring just about a point per game since joining, the team has made the controversial decision to demote the star forward, just weeks after being traded by the Vancouver Canucks.

In a highly publicized inter-locker room rift with former Canucks teammate Elias Pettersson and the lack of production on the ice, the Vancouver Canucks had no choice but to make the hard decision and trade away their star forward.

J.T. Miller handed demotion by New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette

Things turned around quickly for Miller, getting off to an unbelieve hot start in the Big Apple and showcasing maybe the Canucks made a mistake in trading him away, but unfortunately for him, the Rangers have decided to give him an unwarranted demotion.
Although still recording about a point per game since his arrival and dominating with his new team, after a 'slower' slew of games, during the matchup with the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday, peter Laviolette made some changes.
In the middle of the game head coach Peter Laviolette demoted Miller from the 1st power-play unit tot te second, substituting him with Vincent Trocheck in a attempt to ignite some fire into the struggling offense.

It feels unwarranted and surprising that Laviolette can deduct that Miller is the issue on the powerplay when he has easily been one of the teams most consistent and productive players for the last 6-7 weeks.
In 22 games he has recorded 9 goals and 12 assists for 21 points, he is hardly the issue.
