As the Vancouver Canucks' season comes to a close tonight against the Vegas Golden Knights at home in Rogers Arena, all the attention is on Brock Boeser who is likely playing his final game in a Canucks uniform.
Coming into the 2024-2025 Vancouver Canucks season, it was unclear what Brock Boeser's future would be as his contract was expiring at the end of the season.
But, after not getting signed to an extension at the NHL trade deadline due to be too far apart on term, and the team deciding not to trade him away, it basically confirmed that Boeser's time has come to an end.
"I understand the big issue is term. Never say never, but term is the issue that both Boeser and the Canucks have found hard to bridge." Friedman said.
Brock Boeser doesn't want to discuss his future with the Vancouver Canucks.
I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but yes, that is a team signed jersey in brock's car. and yes, i am in denial.
Now, as the Canucks gear up to take on the Golden Knights at home, the media has been all over the 27-year-old fan favorite although he has made it clear in his pre-game interview he is uninterested in discussing the future right now.
All he wants is to soak in the final game of the season with his teammates and still leaves the door open that anything can happen once the season concludes tonight.
Brock Boeser didn't want to talk about tonight like it was his final game for sure.
"You never know what can happen,» he said. «We'll see what happens. Like I said, I'm sure I'll talk with my agent after the season and see if anything can come to an agreement or not."
At the end of the day, the comments made at the deadline by general manager Patrik Allvin may have caused too much damage to the relationship to ensure if his return, but as he stated, anything can happen, just don't expect him back.
