The waiver wire hasn't been very active lately, but on Tuesday afternoon, the New York Rangers placed a very well-known name on it.
According to TSN's Chris Johnston, the New York Rangers have placed forward Barclay Goodrow on waivers. Johnston added that the Rangers are looking to clear cap space this summer and now Goodrow is available freely to the 31 other organizations in the National Hockey League.
Goodrow, 31, appeared in 80 games this season for the Rangers, where he scored 12 points (four goals, eight assists), played 78 penalty minutes, and was a minus-13. He added eight points (six goals, two assists) in 16 games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Toronto, Ontario native has three years remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $3,641,667 and a modified no-trade clause with a 15-team no-trade list.
