LATEST | Kraken forward taken to hospital after being cut by skate
On Wednesday night, the Seattle Kraken announced that they've called up 2022 fourth overall pick Shane Wright, along with Ryan Winterton, from Coachella Valley of the American Hockey League.
The moves initially came with some confusion as it wasn't clear if there was an injury situation with a Kraken forward, but eventually, it was announced that Jordan Eberle was taken to hospital for an MRI following a deep skate cut to his leg during practice.
"It wasn't gushing but it was a deep cut, so they've taken him to a hospital and they're doing an MRI I think we dodged a bullet, but he's going to be pretty sore tomorrow." Kraken General Manager Ron Francis said.
It's unclear at this time how long Jordan Eberle will be out of the lineup, but in the meantime, Seattle's top prospect in Shane Wright will be given an opportunity to play at the NHL level after starting the year in the American Hockey League.
Eberle, 33, has appeared in 13 games for the Kraken this season but is off to a pretty slow start. In those 13 games, he's put up four points (one goals, three assists), nine penalty minutes and is a minus-eight.
Everyone here at Canucks Daily wishes Jordan Eberle a swift recovery from his cut.
