BREAKING | Forward placed on unconditional waivers months after being signed
Life is sometimes filled with mysteries and today adds another to that list. The Tampa Bay Lightning placed Josh Archibald on unconditional waivers after a questionable decision. Archibald inked a deal with the Lightning on July 1st and he's now informed the team that he would not be reporting.
Julien Brisebois, the team's GM, issued the following statement via the team's website:
''Yesterday, I was informed by Josh's agent, and by Josh himself in a subsequent conversation, that he was not planning on playing hockey for the time being and that he would not be reporting to training camp. Consequently, Josh was placed on unconditional waivers earlier today for the purpose of terminating his contract.
«We wish Josh, his wife Bailey, and their entire family the very best in their future endeavors.»
Archibald was a 6th round selection in the 2011 Draft. He most recently played with the Oilers and the Penguins.
