Bissonette asked, "You got Adam Foote helping them out, Sergei Gonchar...the Sedin brothers helping with the power play.."

Adam Foote was a vast and physical defenseman known for his defensive play. He racked up 308 points and 1534 PIM in 1154 games. Foote spent most of his career with Colorado. Foote retired in the 2010-2011 season, his 20th NHL season. On Jan 22, 2023, Foote was hired as an assistant coach for the Canucks.

Sergei Gonchar was a fantastic offensive defenceman for his entire career. He was always his team's quarterback on the power play. The 14th overall pick in 1992 played for 6 NHL teams, racking 811 points in 1301 games. The Russian native retired in 2015 in his 22nd NHL season. Just like Foote, On Jan 22, 2023, Gochar was hired as an assistant coach for the Canucks.

The Sedin Brothers are legends in Vancouver. The 2nd and 3rd overall picks in 1999 had wonderful careers with lots of success. The magic they could create between the two of them was terrific. Henrik Sedin was the team's captain for seven seasons and tallied 1070 points in 1330 games. Daniel Sedin recorded 1041 points in 1306 games. The brothers would play in 17 NHL seasons before retiring in 2017-18. The Sedins rejoined the organization in 2021 and are currently in player development roles.

Bissonette continued, "How do you think that collective help from that coaching staff will amplify the group?"

Bieksa replied, "It'll be unbelievable...if you're a guy in that locker room...how do you not listen to these voices..." Bieksa continued

With the amount of talented players turned coaches, players will be able to learn from the best of the best. The Canucks are hoping this strategy will help their team develop quickly.
