The Canucks are a better team than anyone expected them to be this season, and they've only improved on paper in the last week adding perhaps the biggest name available - Elias Lindholm.
Between two trades with the Flames, the Canucks have added an elite top six forward and a bruising defenceman in
Nikita Zadorov, bolstering both their offence and defence.
Tonight, fans will get their first look at Lindholm in a Canucks jersey, with the expectation being that Tocchet will line him up with the other Elias, EP40.
But one insider says despite how much the Canucks have already improved, they shouldn't stop now.
TSN's Craig Button said on the Donnie and Dhali show that the Canucks are clearly contenders and while their big move is out of the way, he thinks they should continue to add where they can.
The Canucks are clearly a contender for the Stanley Cup, when I look at that roster, and I like that roster, I would add a little more depth,
Button says the team shouldn't look at big names, but adding a bit more depth in case of injury.
Some insiders suggest that the Canucks could still be interested in a top 4 D, while others point towards another forward addition to push one of Mikheyev or Suter out of the top six.
Fans will get their first chance to see the new look Canucks tonight in Carolina, where the Canucks and their newest star will embark on a road trip against some of the east's best teams.
