The Canucks prospect pool is fairly deep, with a couple of high-end players that could become big pieces to the NHL roster in the coming years. The only areas they are really lacking in are at center and in between the pipes.
Let's take a look at who Drance and Dayal had on their ranking, starting with the honourable mentions:
HM. Linus Karlsson - RW - Abbotsford (AHL)
HM.Arshdeep Bains - LW - Abbotsford (AHL)
HM. Jett Woo - D - Abbotsford (AHL)
HM. Jacob Truscott - D - University of Michigan (NCAA)
HM. Lucas Forsell - RW - Farjestad BK (SHL)
HM. Josh Bloom - LW - North Bay (OHL)
10. Danila Klimovich - LW - Abbotsford (AHL)
9. Akito Hirose - D - Vancouver (NHL)
8. Hunter Brzustewicz - D - Kitchener (OHL)
7. Aidan McDonough - LW - Northeastern (NCAA)
6. Kirill Kudryavtsev - D - Sault Ste. Marie (OHL)
5. Elias Pettersson - D - Orebro HK (SHL)
4. Arturs Silovs - G - Abbotsford (AHL)
3. Jonathan Lekkerimaki - RW - Orebro HK (SHL)
2. Aatu Raty - C - Abbotsford (AHL)
1. Tom Willander - D - Boston University (NCAA)
It's an exciting time to be a fan of the Vancouver Canucks, with prospects such as Tom Willander, Aatu Raty, and Jonathan Lekkerimaki, among others, and the team's young core featuring captain Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson. It won't be long before the team returns to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
To have Raty sitting on the second seed sure gives a positive outlook of the Bo Horvat trade that ultimately resulted in Raty, Beauvilier and Hronek.
Several prospects named in Drance and Dayal's list were named to the Canucks' rookie camp roster and for the Young Stars Tournament, which begins later this week in Penticton, British Columbia.
