The Vancouver Canucks are set to take on the St. Louis Blues at Rogers Arena on Wednesday night and will be debuting a brand-new piece of equipment.

In a post on their social media, the Canucks shared that they will be wearing metallic blue helmets for two games this season, including tonight against the St. Louis Blues.

The helmets, which were first worn by the team at practice on Tuesday, drew mixed reactions from the fan base, but it's safe to say that after hearing they'll be sold at an auction for charity may change the minds of those who aren't a fan of them.

"Metallic blue debut.

Tonight will mark the first of two games this season where your #Canucks will wear this shiny new bucket. The helmets will then be sold at auction to benefit
@Canucksforkids Fund. Stay tuned for more!" The Canucks said.

When the Canucks take to the ice on Wednesday night, they'll become the third team in the NHL that has worn metallic helmets with their uniforms. The Los Angeles Kings were the first when they debuted metallic silver helmets with their 1990's throwback third jerseys. Then in 2022, the Vegas Golden Knights added a metallic gold helmet to their uniform rotation.

Fans will be able to see the debut of the metallic blue helmets on Sportsnet Pacific tonight, with puck drop between the Canucks and Blues set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET. Vancouver will be looking for their fourth straight win after defeating the Coyotes, Maple Leafs and Blackhawks in their last three games.
