LATEST | Canucks prospect victim of a vicious cheap shot
Canucks prospect Jett Woo found himself on the receiving end of a cheap shot to the head on Sunday afternoon.
The defenseman, suiting up for the Abbotsford Canucks, took a late cross-check up high from Calgary Wranglers forward Alex Gallant.
Woo remained down for some time before being helped off the ice and leaving the game, while Gallant was given a significant penalty and a game misconduct.
There was no word on Woo's status after the game, but the defenceman added two points to Sunday's 7-2 domination over the Wranglers.
Gallant could face supplemental discipline for the cross-check; he was suspended for three games by the AHL in April for a charging call against Abbotsford.
