DISTRUBING COLLISION LEADING TO A CAREER ENDING INJURY
In the very first minutes of a SDHL (Swedish Women's Hockey League) Game, an incident involving Sanni Hakala drew lots of attention. Hakala was moving fast and trying to get into position in front of the net, but unfortunately lost her balance, crashed and was sent headfirst into the goal post. She remained on the ice, immobile, for a while.
'Finnish women's national team player Sanni Hakala severely injured during a game in the Swedish women's league. She collided head-on with a post during the game. According to Jönköpings Posten, she has no feeling in her extremities from waist down.''
The most recent update confirms that Hakala is awake and breathing, but she has yet to gain any feelings from her waist down suggesting that she may be paralyzed after the incident.
At this point, the idea of Hakala being permanently paralyzed is still into play and draws major concern.
We'll be providing updates in this story as soon as more information is provided. At this moment, we wish to send our thoughts to the player and her family.
