LATEST | Canucks trio joins elite company in franchise's history
The Vancouver Canucks are already 40% way through their 2023-24 schedule and currently sit second in the Pacific Division and National Hockey League with a record of 22-9-2.
There are several reasons why the Vancouver Canucks have had this much success so far, including the trio of Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes and J.T. Miller, all of whom sit in inside the top-ten in points in the entire National Hockey League.
On Wednesday, Sportsnet Stats on X, formerly Twitter, made a statement regarding Pettersson, Hughes and Miller, saying that they're only the second trio in Vancouver Canucks history to each have 40 or more points in the first 33 games of a season.
"#Canucks have 3 players with 40+ points through the first 33 games of a season (Miller, Pettersson & Hughes) for the 2nd time in franchise history and 1st since 1983-84 (Tanti, Sundstrom & Rota)."
Miller leads the way on the Canucks with 45 points, which has him third in the NHL, only behind Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov and Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon. Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes are both tied with 41 points after multi-point efforts on Tuesday against Nashville.
It's going to be interesting to see how the trio does throughout the remainder of the 2023-24 campaign and if any of them reach the 100-point mark once the regular season concludes in April.
