LATEST | Change of plans for the Canucks on the trade market: New top trade bait emerges
It's not a secret, the Canucks have been active working the phones trying to make a deal to improve the team's right defensive side. Multiple names have been involved in different reports, but an Insider just confirmed who the Canucks were putting their focus on.
THE NEXT PLAYER OUT OF VANCOUVER REVEALED?
Rich Dhaliwal of the Donnie and Dhali show has confirmed that Anthony Beauvillier's name is on the trade block.
Dhaliwal says "...I heard Beauvillier's name...I heard his name on the trade market on the weekend."
Sounds like Garland has become more inclined to the idea of remaining with the Canucks for the time being, due to a trade being practically impossible at this time and the fact that the team is doing extremely well. Beauvilier now emerges as the top trade bait, especially due to his contractual situation:
''Sounds like the #Canucks are looking to move Anthony Beauvillier instead of Conor Garland now. Tocchet likes Garland's game. With Blueger nearing a return and Höglander playing solid, there's a logjam up front.'' Beauvillier has played in 12 games this season, recording 5 points. The talented forward has been moved around a lot this season and currently finds himself on the fourth line of the Canucks.
Beauvillier is in the last year of his three year deal worth $12.45 Million dollars. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent. This allows him to be trade bait as the Canucks have an influx of wingers.
The Canucks will continue their quest for a right shot defenseman with Beauvillier as a potential trade option for them moving forward.
