LATEST | Filip Hronek is lighting up the web with pictures of his off-season progress
The Canucks payed a hefty price to acquire a much needed right handed Defenseman in Filip Hronek. During a moment where everybody believed the Canucks would be sellers, Allvin took everyone by surprise and sent a first round selection and second round selection to the Wings to acquire Hronek.
Hronek came to Vancouver carrying an injury, was allowed to play 4 games under his new colours to show his worth, before getting shut down for the remainder of the season with a shoulder injury. Ever since, everyone's been quite worried about his ability and his worth.
Did the Canucks overspend?
Now that the season is just about to kick off, the players have now met for a few skates altogether and not only is Hronek fully recovered, he's made remarkable off-ice progress. Entering the last year of his deal, Hronek has a lot to prove and the latest pictures clearly shows that he's well aware of the situation. Showing up to Vancouver in the best shape he's ever been, look at that progress:
The author of 39 points in 64 games will hopefully come in and slot as the second Defenseman this team's been needing for years. If he can take some of the workload off of Quinn Hughes' shoulders and allow him to focus more on offense, who knows where he can take his game?
