The NHL has often been highlighted for their lack of consistency regarding the way they hand their suspension. From behavioral problems, to bad hits it's been outrageous.

ZUCKER AWARDED A 3-GAME SUSPENSION

A wild sequence made the rounds when the Panthers' forward Nick Cousins and the Coyotes' Jason Zucker got involved in an altercation that resulted in two, extremely dangerous plays.

Cousins delivered a dangerous hit along the blue line that sent the Coyotes' player and Zucker came knocking moments later with a hit just as dangerous:

FORMER NHL REFEREE FIRES AT THE NHL

The former referee, Tim Peel, was absolutely outraged by the NHL's call and took shots at the League for their egregious call:

'Is it April Fools! This is a joke that Jason Zucker has been suspended for 3 games!#Yotes Nick Cousins has hit two guys from behind with no repercussions the past 2 weeks! #TimeToHunt Cousins took advantage of an unsuspecting player. Awful by the @NHLPlayerSafety''

Whether Zucker deserved a three game suspension or not could be up for discussion. One thing that's certain, Cousins should've been given, at the very least, the same punishment. His hit was just as, if not more dangerous then Zucker's retaliation.
