LATEST | Insider confirms the Canucks' interest for Tyson Barrie: Reiterates on Ethan Bear
Tyson Barrie is available, and the Vancouver Canucks are reportedly interested in bringing the Victoria native back to BC.
On the Donnie and Dhali podcast, Insider Rick Dhaliwal said the Canucks have liked Barrie for "years and years and years" and will talk to the Predators, however it will be difficult to make a deal work.
Dhaliwal said while Barrie the player is a good fit, Ethan Bear is even better due to cap implications.
It will be tough to get this contract on the books but I'll tell you this Don, that's why Ethan Bear makes so much sense for Vancouver,
Dhaliwal said.
Bear's contract is not going to be a problem to get on the books.
Dhaliwal said that any Barrie move to a contender will be difficult due to his $4.5 million cap hit, and the Predators only have one retention slot remaining.
