LATEST | Insider reveals Chris Tanev's price of acquisition: Reunion with the Canucks less likely?
It wasn't too long ago that two of the hottest commodities on the market were Nikita Zadorov and Chris Tanev. The it was Canucks have landed the Russian, and Tanev is left and linked to an impressive number of teams.
An experienced warrior on the blue line, it is expected that various contending teams will be doing their due diligence on the defenseman. On Insider Trading earlier tonight, Darren Dreger may have revealed Tanev's price of acquisition and it may stop some teams from entertaining any talks with the Flames:
«He'd (Treliving) like to add a D-man, preferably a RHD, but the prices right now are too high Would Toronto be willing to give up a 2nd RD draft pick for Tanev? Maybe, but Toronto doesn't have a 2nd RD pick, they are limited in their draft supply»
CANUCKS IN ON THE ACTION?
The Canucks have admitted to still being active on the market, especially for another right-handed shot defenceman. However, as much as both the Canucks and Quinn Hughes would like for Tanev to come back to Vancouver, that may be too steep of a price for a 33-year-old on an expiring contract.
Tanev will be a free agent by the end of this season, at which point the Canucks could try and acquire him without spending assets.
