LATEST | J.T. Miller takes proactive approach to being a better player
While J.T. Miller has always been known throughout his career as a more offensive-minded player, he's been playing well on the defensive side of the puck too this season.
After Thursday's 4-0 win over the Florida Panthers, Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet said that Miller has been wanting to get information from the staff on how he can improve his defensive game.
"Tocchet talking about how Miller has been on the coaches all week about how he can get his defensive game better.
He has more awareness than his stans on here."
It's great to see a player take a proactive approach to being a better player and want to have a well-rounded game, instead of being known for one thing only and so far, especially this season, J.T. Miller is looking like he's reaching his full potential.
The East Palestine, Ohio native has been on a tear offensively, putting up 43 points (15 goals, 28 assists) in 30 games this season, which has him second in the National Hockey League, only behind Tampa Bay's Nikita Kucherov, who hit the 50-point mark last night.
It's safe to say that after all the trade rumours last season, Canucks fans and J.T. Miller are happy that nothing came of those rumours and that he remains in Vancouver and committed to helping the organization win, doing whatever it takes to be a better player as well.
