LATEST | NHL Network makes announcement regarding Elias Pettersson
The NHL Network has been highlighting the 50 best players, in their eyes, around the league and, on Sunday, released their list of players ranked 30th to 21st.
Among those on the NHL Network's list today was Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson, who is ranked as the 26th-best player in the National Hockey League.
" Elias Pettersson set new career highs across the board last year and was just the sixth different Canuck to record a 100-point season!
He comes in at #26"
Having Pettersson ranked 26th is probably the right call for now. There's no doubt that in the coming years if his game continues to grow on both sides of the puck and he produces quite a bit for the Canucks offensively, he can become a top-20 player in the entire National Hockey League.
Pettersson is coming off the best season of his career thus far, putting up 102 points in 80 games, and many expect him to reach the 100-point mark or even surpass what he did last year.
The Sundsvall, Sweden native is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of the 2023-24 season, and the fan base is hoping that he'll be able to put pen to paper as soon as possible. Still, for now, he's decided to put contract talks on hold to focus on preparations for the new campaign.
Do you think Pettersson will score 100+ points for a second consecutive season? Let us know what you think in the poll below!
