Elliotte Friedman brought up the idea that the Canucks could be looking at trading Nikita Zadorov to acquire cap space, and it's been causing a stir all over social media. The big Russian Defenseman has become a fan favourite since his arrival, and his play has been excellent as far as what we could've expected from him.

ZADOROV'S AGENT ADRESSES THE RUMORS

Dan Milstein, who represents the Canucks' Russians, adressed the rumours that suggested Zadorov could be on his way out of Vancouver and revealed that he did believe his client was being shopped or even up for discussion:

'Agent Dan Milstein does not believe rumours that the #Canucks will trade UFA defenseman Nikita Zadorov.

Milstein tells me that he does not expect Zadorov to be moved at the deadline.'

It would've been questionable for the Canucks to move from Zadorov, especially after they made clear that they were looking at defencemen like him.

CONCERNING NEWS REGARDING KUZMENKO?

Milstein also represents the Canucks scoring winger Andrei Kuzmenko; Friedman said this morning that he thought Zadorov and Kuzmenko could be used to gain cap space for a more extensive trade. The fact that Milstein only addressed Zadorov raises flags and suggests that Andrei Kuzmenko might already be closer to being traded than we thought.

The Canucks will have to find a way to move some money to acquire top-end players. It would've been a bizarre strategy to use Zadorov as a cap dump, but the way Kuzmenko has been playing and with the potential he showed last year, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him go.
