LATEST | Rick Tocchet rips into the team during his post-game interview
The Vancouver Canucks were handed a 4-1 loss on Thursday night by the hands of the Philadelphia Flyers. It was just their second regulation loss of December and their first since December 5th. They only managed 19 shots on goal and were 0-3 on the power play.
The Canucks surrendered three consecutive goals in just over two minutes during the second period.
Head coach Rick Tocchet did not mince words following his team's defeat:
This is a learning lesson. We just have to be more invested in the game.
The coach clearly wasn't content with the team's effort and they'll be paying the price in the upcoming practices.
Vancouver will begin the new year at home with a matchup against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, January 2nd.
