LATEST | Tocchet offers his comments after the team's performance: Lots of positive coming from it
The Vancouver Canucks returned home from their five-game road trip and immediately had to play on back-to-back nights, Friday and Saturday, against the St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers.
Friday's game against the Blues was nearly perfect, as the Canucks walked away with a 5-0 win, thanks to a three-point performance from J.T. Miller and a 22-save shutout from Thatcher Demko.
Vancouver played very well on Saturday night, especially for a team that's playing the second game of a back-to-back, as they took the New York Rangers to overtime, where they lost 4-3 after a terrible non-call.
After the game, Canucks Head Coach Rick Tocchet praised his team's effort in their loss.
"I'm proud of our team. They played their balls off today,» Rick Tocchet told reporters after the game.
"I thought we deserved better tonight. We gave them nothing other than the two five-on-three's."
"I hope the guys take a nice relaxing day, they deserve it."
The Canucks are now off for today and Monday, before they return to action on Tuesday night at Rogers Arena against the Nashville Predators. Tuesday's game will mark the second meeting between the Canucks and Predators in one week, with Vancouver picking up a 3-2 win in Nashville on October 24th.
