LATEST | Trade suggestion sending Elias Pettersson to the Maple Leafs: Eastern hockey fans' knowledge wildly questioned
The Toronto area has developed into quite the hardcore fan base through the years and just like every other summer they go into mad rage suggesting suggesting crazy trade ideas.
The trend going on in the Eastern medias is that Elias Pettersson's future in Vancouver is uncertain and trade proposals have been emerging everywhere. The most recent one suggested that Elias Pettersson would be heading out east to Toronto and the way the under value the latest member of the 100 point club is crazy. Here's the 'said proposal'' :
To Toronto
Elias Pettersson
To Vancouver
Matthew Knies
2024 3rd Round Selection New York I
To even think that any GM would consider sending an offer of this sorts for a superstar like Pettersson is outrageous.
Knies joined the Leafs at the end of their season after he completed his successfull collegiate season. However, the former second round pick is nowhere near the value it would take to move Pettersson who will be a restricted free agent at the end of the 2023-2024 campaign.
For the moment, absolutely no reports from credible insiders suggests that Pettersson is not considering a long-term extension in Vancouver. The window for an extension signing has opened on July 1st and it is expected that both parties will meet during the summer to initiate those talks.
