LATEST | Update on Elias Pettersson's extension: Canucks eager to make it happen
Elias Pettersson is a restricted free agent this summer, but according to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, the 25 year old is in no hurry to sign a new deal.
On the Sekeres and Price show, Seravalli says the Canucks have been quietly working towards getting a deal done, but their counterparts haven't been as meaningfully engaged.
I think the Canucks are more than ready to make a deal, I think they're in fact as aggressive as they possibly could be knowing that the other side, I believe at this juncture, has more or less been stalling,
Seravalli said.
The insider said it doesn't necessarily mean Pettersson has soured on resigning in Vancouver, but that he hasn't budged from his offseason position of being in no rush to get a deal done.
The Canucks would love to get their superstar under contract sooner than later, but they'll need Pettersson's camp on board.
