MAJOR | Allvin announces the release of five players from training camp
Less than 24 hours after dropping their preseason opener to the Calgary Flames by a score of 10 to 0, the Vancouver Canucks announced their first cuts of training camp.
The following five players have been released from training camp and will be returning to their respective junior teams in the Canadian Hockey League:
- Kirill Kudryavtsev (Sault Ste. Marie - OHL)
- Sawyer Mynio (Seattle - WHL)
- Hunter Brzustewicz (Kitchener - OHL)
- Ty Young (Prince George - WHL)
- Vilmer Alriksson (Guelph - OHL)
All five players are expected to play big roles for their respective teams, especially Hunter Brzustewicz and Sawyer Mynio, the latter of whom just signed his three-year, entry-level contract with the Canucks on Sunday afternoon.
The Vancouver Canucks will be back in action on Wednesday night when they travel to Rogers Place to take on the Edmonton Oilers. Catch all the action on Sportsnet One and Sportsnet 360 starting at 6 p.m. PT.
