We're just 36 days away from the National Hockey League's trade deadline for the 2024-25 season and talks appear to be heating up regarding J.T. Miller.

A little less than two weeks ago, it appeared that J.T. Miller was going to be dealt to the New York Rangers, but the trade fell through at last minute and for now, he remains a member of the Vancouver Canucks.

Western Conference team enters the mix for Vancouver Canucks' J.T. Miller

J.T. Miller has gotten plenty of interest from teams around the National Hockey League recently including the St. Louis Blues, but now another Western Conference team has entered the mix.
During Thursday's edition of Donnie & Dhali, NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal shared that the Colorado Avalanche have emerged as a potential landing spot for J.T. Miller.
"Yeah I think Colorado could be a possibility there and I do want to say this...a few years ago, Vancouver and Colorado held trade talks about Miller and Newhook and Byram would've been the centerpiece coming back. I don't know why the deal didn't take place, but they were along a couple years ago on Miller. So they have a history of talking to Colorado about Miller." Dhaliwal said.

He added, "But I just wonder about Colorado and the possibility and I wonder if Miller would go there. Remember, he said East Coast USA, but when you go to a franchise like Colorado and you've got Makar and you got MacKinnon, you think, that's a pretty damn good spot to be in."
Following last week's blockbuster trade that sent Mikko Rantanen to the Carolina Hurricanes, while Colorado added Martin Necas, there's no doubt they'd like to add some more offense and J.T. Miller could be a great fit as their second line centerman.
Miller, 31, has put up 35 points (nine goals, 26 assists), 37 penalty minutes and is a minus-four in 40 games for the Canucks this season.
The East Palestine, Ohio native has five years remaining on his contract after this season with a cap hit of $8 million USD and a full no-movement clause, which could make it tricky to trade him.
The Vancouver Canucks are remaining patient on the J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson front despite rumors persisting, however it seems inevitable that one or both of them are moved by Patrik Allvin ahead of the March 7th trade deadline.
