There has been rumblings that the Canucks could be on the market for a new AHL Head Coach.

Not only did Allvin confirmed a change earlier, he also confirmed the replacement for Jeremy Colliton. In a press release, Allvin confirmed that the former Canuck forward Manny Malhotra had been hired as the team's newest AHL Head Coach. He'll be taking over from Jeremy Colliton who had been looking at NHL opportunities as of late:

General Manager Patrik Allvin announces that Manny Malhotra has been hired as the new head coach of the Abbotsford Canucks.

Malhotra took part in three season from 2010 to 2013 with the Canucks, playing in 160 regular season games. He collected 30 points along the way.

Since retiring, the 44-year-old has built up quite the coaching pedigree. He first served as an associate coach with the Canucks under the team's previous regimen. He was, up until now, an assistant coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Colliton had reportedly looking to take his game to the next stage. According to the most recent information, the former Canucks AHL Head Coach is in the running for the job in San Jose:

As part of Vancouver's press release, they subtly thank both mention that Jeremy Colliton (now-former HC) & Gary Agnew (Abbotsford associate coach)

Colliton is among those in the running for the #SJSharks HC position.
