After spending 7 years with the Boston Bruins, Jake DeBrusk decided to test free agency this summer as a UFA (Unrestricted free agent).
He eventually chose to sign a monster seven-year, $38.5 million deal with the Vancouver Canucks.
Although going through a rough start to the season, with the recent injuries and absences from big names like J.T. Miller and Brock Boeser, he has been able to step up during that time and show that he is worth every penny he earns.
In 22 games this season, DeBrusk has found his game as of late, scoring 7 goals and 8 assists for 15 points.
Just a few nights ago, when Jake DeBrusk played his first game against his former team and team mates, with an extra chip on his shoulder we might add, DeBrusk got the last laugh as he scored the game winning goal.
After being quiet on social media, he finally posted his first Instagram post in a long time, and he seemed to throw some shade at the Bruins and his former team mate Jeremy Swayman.
The picture was captioned "Year 8", commemorating his 8th year in the NHL. The photo was him scoring the game winning goal and Jeremy Swayman in his return to TD Garden.
There was a lot of talk by the Bruins and their fans that DeBrusk was not worth anywhere near what he got with the Vancouver Canucks, which is why he left the Bruins, and now, their might be some extra spice between him and the Bruins.
Although, the choice of the photo could be harmless, there was clear intent behind it.
