Vancouver Canucks rookie forward Max Sasson made his NHL debut on Saturday night, recording his first career point against Ottawa, which made his dad very happy.

It was an emotional night in the Nation's capital on Saturday night as Max Sasson made his National Hockey League debut against the Ottawa Senators, with family and friends in attendance.

Sasson learned about the call-up mid-week as he was informed by Ryan Johnson - General Manager of the Abbotsford Canucks.

As is tradition in the National Hockey League, when a player makes their debut, they get a solo lap during warm-up, with Sasson taking his sans helmet.

During the second period, Max Sasson got on the score sheet, registering an assist on Teddy Blueger's fourth goal of the season for his first point in the National Hockey League.

After the game, Max Sasson was interviewed by Sportsnet's Kyle Bukauskas after receiving the famous Hockey Night in Canada towel.

During the interview, Sasson was shown a video of his dad's reaction to his first point in the National Hockey League and the Canucks forward was loving it.

"There is no way, That is awesome." Sasson said.

He went on to add, "That was his reaction to this first NHL point, But I think you could have found a triple-A goal of me with his same reaction.

That's as good as it gets. That's super special. I wouldn't expect anything different."

Sasson and the Vancouver Canucks would hold off a late third period push from the Ottawa Senators to record their seventh road win of the 2024-25 season in eight games away from Rogers Arena.

The Vancouver Canucks are back in action on Tuesday night against a couple of familiar faces - Nikita Zadorov & Elias Lindholm and the Boston Bruins, with puck drop set for 4 pm PT on Sportsnet nationwide.
