Vilmer Alriksson had quite the impressive showing at both the Canucks' rookie camp and main training camp and proved to the organization that he can be a valuable asset for the future.
Last weekend, the Canucks signed Alriksson to his three-year, entry-level contract before sending him back to the Ontario Hockey League's Guelph Storm.
Alriksson was interviewed recently by Swedish media outlet Hockey Sverige where he mentioned that he was a little surprised that he was signed to an entry-level contract before going back to Guelph.

With his entry-level contract now signed and Alriksson back for another season in junior hockey, he's set to play a big role for the Guelph Storm who are looking to take a step forward this year after being swept in the opening round of the playoffs by Sault Ste. Marie.
Along with playing a big role for the Guelph Storm, a strong start to the season could put Alriksson in contention for a spot on Sweden's World Junior roster in December. This year's World Juniors are being held in Ottawa, Ontario, with Sweden's group consisting of Czechia, Slovakia, Switzerland and Kazakhstan.
While it's not confirmed at the time of writing this, it's expected that Vilmer Alriksson will make his 2024-25 season debut tonight as the Guelph Storm host the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.
