Elias Pettersson's Agent Responds to Canucks GM Patrik Allvin Calling Out His Client in the Media
It has not been smooth sailing for Vancouver Canucks superstar Elias Pettersson this season, dealing with poor on ice play and off-ice drama, and now, his agent Pat Brisson has responded to general manager Patrik Allvin calling out his client in the media.
All season long, Elias Pettersson has been at the center off-ice drama, criticism, trade rumors and speculation, and a shocking interview by general manager Patrik Allvin calling him out and bringing up to the surface.
«It comes back to expectations and preparation, how you prepare yourself. I don't believe that he was aware of just how hard it was going to be. Just because you achieve one thing to get a long-term extension life just gets harder. You haven't really accomplished anything. You're not even halfway there (to winning a Stanley Cup). And then obviously the mental part comes in there, too, and suddenly you feel the pressure,» Allvin said.
He continued, saying that he has still has a ton of belief in Pettersson, but told Sportsnet's Ian Macintyre that the star needs to mature and handle critisim better.
"I believe in him. I believe that he's capable. (But) he needs to mature and understand that there are certain expectations and it does not get easier. And you need to face the music when things don't go well."
Elias Petterson's agent Pat Brisson addresses Patrik Allvin calling out his client
Despite his client getting called out bluntly, you would think an agent would take exception, but Pat Brisson responded to Patrik Allvin's comments in a very cordial manner.
Surprisingly, Brisson said that he holds nothing against Allvin, that the two of them have a great relationship and understands where the GM is coming from.
He continued saying that this is a business and he is proud of how EP40 responded to the comments and says teams have to be open sometimes, even if it uncomfortable.
According to iMac, he briefly spoke to Pat Brisson (Pettersson and Hughes agent), and the agent told iMac how he has a great relationship with Patrick Allvin, and sometimes managers have to do what they have to do to get their message out. And he's not upset with the Canucks and how he was really proud of how Pettersson handled the message.
