After rumors swirling for what felt like months regarding a rift between Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller, the Swede has commented on his teammate's departure.

Patrik Allvin was very busy on Friday evening completing a pair of trades that sent J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers, while acquiring Marcus Pettersson from the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Vancouver Canucks wrapped up their road trip on Friday night with a stop in Dallas for their first game in the post-J.T. Miller era, however their win streak came to a halt as the Stars came out victorious by a score of 5 to 3.
After the game when members of the Vancouver Canucks met with reporters where, understandably, they were asked about the departure of J.T. Miller.
Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson, who was rumored to have a feud with J.T. Miller, was one of those who spoke about his teammates departure and here's what he had to say.
"Yeah obviously a big blow. Lost J.T. [Miller]. Just happened when we got to the rink, but we tried to give it a good battle and just couldn't get the puck in the net." Pettersson said.

He added, when asked what the team loses by trading someone like Miller, "Lose our skillful power forward. His play speaks for itself. But yeah, all we can do now is look forward and wish him the best."

Pettersson was also asked about that rumored feud with J.T. Miller, which was confirmed by Jim Rutherford this week, but the Swedish forward didn't want to get into it.
"I don't want to get into that, I mean all we can do is look forward. I don't even know what to say, all we can do is look forward."
Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes and head coach Rick Tocchet also commented on the trade in their post-game media availabilities, with both of them sharing how important J.T. Miller was to the group and wishing him luck going forward.
"A lot of noise the last couple weeks and months, but to see him go, he's a heck of a hockey player and I enjoyed playing with him for the six years that I had." Hughes said.
"Millsy played great hockey for the Canucks and myself, so obviously a heart and soul guy and I think he's going to do well over there." Tocchet said.

He added, "Yeah, I love Millsy and I thought he played his ass off for me. There's things that happen behind-the-scenes that, they happen, and sure you get emotional. Millsy was a hell of a player for us."
It won't be long before fans of the Vancouver Canucks will get to see J.T. Miller face the club as the two teams are set for a matinee at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, March 22nd.
The Canucks will now return home to Vancouver, without J.T. Miller, Danton Heinen and Vincent Desharnais, where they'll take on the Detroit Red Wings at Rogers Arena tomorrow night for a 5 pm puck drop.
