Elias Pettersson speaks his mind ahead of game seven on home ice
The Vancouver Canucks had an opportunity on Saturday night to advance to their first Western Conference Final in 13 years, but unfortunately, the Edmonton Oilers came out and played with desperation. The Oilers won and forced a Game 7 back in Vancouver tomorrow night.
While the Canucks are likely disappointed that they couldn't finish the job, they have to turn the page quickly and realize that tomorrow night is the biggest game of their careers so far.
An opportunity to play at home in a winner-take-all Game 7 is something players dream about growing up and for Canucks forward Elias Pettersson, he's excited to play in tomorrow night's game.
"The barn's going to be loud. Fans going to be into it. Those are the type of games you want to play."
It hasn't been a very good playoffs for Elias Pettersson thus far. In 12 games, he only has six points (one goal, five assists) and dating back to the middle of March, he only has two goals.
If the Canucks need anyone to get going and play a big role in Game 7 tomorrow night, it's Elias Pettersson. While he's had his struggles, he's still an important member of the organization. Eventually, he'll break through and hopefully for the Canucks and their fans, it'll be tomorrow night.
A Game 7 between two Canadian teams on a Holiday Monday is a dream for fans of hockey in this country. Puck drop tomorrow night between the Canucks and Oilers is set for 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET.
