The Vancouver Canucks are set to face the Edmonton Oilers in the second round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs and some reporters aren't giving Rick Tocchet's group much of a chance in the series.
While on the NHL on TNT panel on Friday night, former National Hockey League forward Colby Armstrong claimed that the Edmonton Oilers are going to walk all over the Vancouver Canucks in the series after watching what both teams did during the first round.
"I think Edmonton is going to walk all over them. I have a feeling and I'm going off of what I just watched through this series and I watched against LA, what Edmonton was able to do to them. So they [Vancouver] better be ready to roll." Armstrong said.
While the playoffs are a whole different ball game, The Vancouver Canucks swept the season series against the Edmonton Oilers winning all four contests and outscoring them 21 to 7. Forward Brock Boeser led the way scoring six goals in the four games, including a four-goal performance in the season opener, while captain Quinn Hughes put up eight points.
Game 1 between the Vancouver Canucks and Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Arena is reportedly set for Tuesday, May 7th, however the time has yet to be determined by the National Hockey League.
