While there's no doubt the Canucks will do whatever it takes to bring him back into the fold for the 2024-25 season and potentially beyond, Dakota Joshua will have interest from other National Hockey League teams this summer.
Joshua's play this season has been key for the Canucks, as he's been able to slot in any of the four forward lines with ease and come playoff time, he'll be relied on heavily, especially due to the physical presence he brings.
Right now, Joshua's value is at an all-time high and in his recent article on The Athletic, Thomas Drance shared that the Dearborn, Michigan native will likely get three or four times his current AAV of $800,000.
This means that Dakota Joshua could be looking at $3 million as the next average annual value on his next contract, whether that be with the Vancouver Canucks or another franchise through free agency this summer.
So far this season, the 27-year-old has put up a career-high 28 points (15 goals, 13 assists), 46 penalty minutes and is a plus-15. If he hadn't of missed six weeks with a hand injury, there's no doubt he would be pushing 20 goals and 40 points.
