LATEST | Canucks announce roster move after overtime win over Los Angeles
The Vancouver Canucks have now won back-to-back games on their road trip after defeating the Los Angeles Kings in overtime on Tuesday night. Vancouver's win saw them re-take sole possession of the lead in the Western Conference with a record of 40-17-7 (87 points) in 64 games.
On the morning after their win over Los Angeles, Patrik Allvin has announced a roster move, sending Russian forward Vasily Podkolzin back to the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Canucks.
"General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that F Vasily Podkolzin has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL)."
Podkolzin, 22, appeared in two games with Vancouver on the road trip, skating in 12:39 against the Anaheim Ducks and 9:17 against the Los Angeles Kings, but failed to record any points. Meanwhile, In 44 games with AHL Abbotsford, Podkolzin has 28 points (15 goals, 13 assists), 15 penalty minutes and has an even-rating.
As the Vancouver Canucks continue to scour the market for a forward, many wonder if Podkolzin could be used as a trade chip to bring a big name back to Rogers Arena.
