The Canucks fell out of luck when the NHL announced that Nikita Zadorov would be suspended for two games following a hit on a Red Wings' forward. Soucy, who had been out of the starting line-up for some time, was officially placed on Injury Reserve, and Allvin announced a subsequent call-up from Abbotsford.

Jet Woo, the team's second-round pick in 2018, will be getting his first opportunity with the big club since he joined the professional in 2020:

General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that D Carson Soucy has been placed on injured reserve, and D Jett Woo has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL).

The 23-year-old has steadily improved his two-way game and has become an essential member of the defensive core down in Abbotsford over the past two seasons. There has not yet been any confirmation as to whether or not he'd be getting an opportunity to play; we'll know more about that later as the Canucks prepare for their meeting with the Blackhawks.
