For the Vancouver Canucks, it's been pretty obvious for months now - they're buyers. They've added Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov in separate deals with the Calgary Flames, but General Manager Patrik Allvin isn't done.
According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Vancouver Canucks are looking for a forward, with that being their priority this week and that bringing in another defenceman is less important at this time.
There have been several forwards the Canucks have been linked to in recent weeks, including Jake Guentzel of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Jordan Greenway of the Buffalo Sabres and Tyler Toffoli of the New Jersey Devils, the latter of whom spent 17 games with Vancouver back in 2020.
The Canucks also need to make a decision on free agent forward Phil Kessel, who has been working out in the American Hockey League with Abbotsford for a few weeks now. If the Canucks want Kessel apart of the organization and potentially on their playoff roster, he'll need to sign a contract before 3 p.m. ET on Friday.
It's going to be an interesting week to say the least on the trade market. Stay tuned to CanucksDaily for full coverage of everything relating to the Vancouver Canucks.
