Bruce Boudreau did not hold back his words when talking about his experience with Vancouver Canucks' President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford at the way the Vancouver Canucks negotiate.

As the Vancouver Canucks season comes to a close shortly, the biggest narrative entering the offseason is if Rick Tocchet will return as their head coach next year, and former coach Bruce Boudreau unloads on Jim Rutherford's attempts in trying to manipulate the situation.

Bruce Boudreau takes a shot at Jim Rutherford and the Vancouver Canucks

Earlier in the week, general manager Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford expressed their desire to re-sign Rick Tocchet to a contract extension, but went as far as saying publicly that they will force their "team option" even if Tocchet doesn't desire to return next year.
This public announcement did not mull over well with former Vancouver Canucks head coach Bruce Boudreau where he took a shot at the current management and their unprofessional negotiation tactics.
«I can see how Vancouver management works therethey did the same thing to me when they wanted me to sign my deal,» Boudreau said on SiriusXM radio this morning. «They put it public; they start to say, 'Hey, if you don't do this, we're going to do this,' and stuff like that As soon as I heard the Rick Tocchet situation, I know exactly what Jim is doing here, and it's almost bullying him into signing the deal.

«All of a sudden, you get threatened. 'You better sign it, or we're not going to do this. You better sign it, or we're not going to do that.' Me, I wasn't negotiating with any other teams or anything, but I panicked and said, 'Okay, I'm going to sign it right now.'»

«I just see the same thing sort of happening with Rick, but I think Rick is in a much, much stronger position than I ever was. I think he'll do whatever he feels he has to do for himself.»
Obviously, Boudreau is speaking from his own personal experience that seems to still rub him the wrong way.
Boudreau was the coach in Vancouver when both Rutherford and Allvin took over the managing duties, which eventually led to a messy separation between the two parties.
Even Canucks fans took Boudreau's side, chanting his name while being forced to stick behind the bench long after it was well known he would be eventually let go.

Do you think both Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford should be relived of their duties?
