Canucks rookie Arshdeep Bains has been making waves throughout the hockey world recently, becoming just the fourth-ever Punjabi player to ever play in an NHL game. The Surrey, B.C. native has suited up for two games as he continues to search for his first career point.

While he's found offensive success at virtually every level of his career thus far, dominating the WHL and the AHL, he has been eased into NHL action, playing approximately 13 minutes in both of his appearances to date.

One NHL player who has experienced a steady welcome to the league this season is none other than Connor Bedard arguably one of the faces of the league already at just eighteen years old. He leads the Chicago Blackhawks in scoring despite missing nearly six weeks with a broken jaw. The star forward had some extremely high appraisal for Bains, as a comment from 2022 has resurfaced and is being put into new context:

Bains is one of the best passers in the league.

Being called one of the best passers in the league from one of the most highly-touted players of this generation is no small compliment. Bedard made this comment during Bains' final WHL season, which he recorded a whopping 112 points in 68 games, including 69 assists.

Praise from one of the league's best young players is surely encouraging for the 23-year old Bains (who is actually five years old than Bedard), and he will hope to have his passing abilities and offensive prowess translate to the NHL level in due time.
