LATEST | Elias Pettersson gets called out by a journalist
Elias Pettersson and the Vancouver Canucks find themselves in a great position heading into the final stretch of the 2023-24 NHL season. Vancouver ranks first in the Pacific Division with a fantastic record of 42-18-8, and Pettersson ranks second on the roster with 79 points in just 68 games.
However, the Canucks have been facing bumps in the road as of recent, as they were overtaken for first place in the NHL by the Florida Panthers. They currently sit fourth as the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers have also leapfrogged them.
Pettersson, despite being on pace for 95 points, has just two goals and six points in his last 10 games, and only four goals in his past 19 games. His most recent multi-point outing was a three-assist game against Detroit on Feb. 15.
According to Jeff Paterson, a Canucks reporter had asked Pettersson if he needed a «reminder» to be at his best and moving his feet:
The Canucks take on the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday night as they approach the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and Pettersson will look to achieve his second-consecutive point-per-game season.
