It's been just over one week since the Vancouver Canucks lost star goaltender Thatcher Demko to a lower-body injury during a game against the Winnipeg Jets.

Following an evaluation, the Canucks determined that Demko will be out week-to-week with his injury, but is expected to return at some point prior to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in April.

During an interview with Pierre LeBrun, Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin said that Thatcher Demko's status is still week-to-week and that it's hard to set a specific timeline for his return to the crease.

"Allvin told Lebrun that Demko is still week to week and that it's hard to set a specific time frame."

Demko, 28, was having a solid season up until his injury and was leading the entire National Hockey League in wins. In 49 games this season, Demko has a record of 34-13-2 with a 2.47 goals against average, a .917 save percentage and five shutouts.

In Demko's absence, Casey DeSmith and 2023 IIHF World Championship MVP Arturs Silovs will need to carry the load and help ensure that the Canucks maintain their lead atop the Pacific Division and Western Conference standings.
