Since the Canucks came back from the All-Star break, they had issues maintaining an elevated level of play. They got a nice streak going with four wins in a row against the Kings, the Jets, the Golden Knights and the Ducks.

They weren't, however, able to keep it up when it came down to playing the Avalanche and the Capitals. Rick Tocchet gave a spirited post-game interview after the team's lost to the Capitals and concern has risen amongst the analysts:

«There's more in the tank. There's always that more. We've got to break through it.»

TOCCHET SOUR WITH THE TEAM'S EFFORT?

The many analysts covering the Canucks all came to the same conclusion and they directly pointed the way Tocchet addressed his team's recent performances. Along with the effort, the head coach doesn't like the team's mentality and their approach to games and practices.

Tocchet sounded like he didn't love the Canucks mentality recently, even at practise the last couple of days, and this performance against the Caps shows why

The good thing of this whole fiasco and the team's consistency issues is that the Canucks have 14 games before the playoffs start. They still have time to find their groove back and get their special units going again.
