MAJOR | Forward to have contract terminated following the leaking of incriminating video
The Arizona Coyotes recently claimed forward Adam Ruzicka off of waivers from the Calgary Flames, though it appears he is once again hitting the waiver wire. The 24-year old Bratislava, Slovakia native recorded 9 points in 39 games with Calgary and was pointless in three with Arizona, receiving an average just over 10 minutes of ice time per game. He also saw some usage on the power play, specifically with the Flames, as he averaged nearly two minutes of ice time per game with the man advantage.
He established his NHL presence last season, as he recorded 20 points across 44 games with the Flames. That production has roughly halved this season, and it looks as though the may have some trouble finding another NHL squad after his stint in the desert lasted just three games. A now-deleted video was posted to Ruzicka's Instagram which depicted the hulking 6'4» forward in an environment with drugs and alcohol, thus explaining the sudden contract termination.
Ruzicka was drafted by Calgary in the 4th round in the 2017 draft, and made his NHL debut in 2020-2021.
