While Elias Pettersson is continuing to have a great season for the Vancouver Canucks, is there reason for the team to be concerned about his future with the team?
On the DFO Rundown podcast, Frank Seravalli says while he's not sure what it is, "something odd" is happening with the negotiations between Pettersson and the team.
I know the Canucks really wanted an answer by the deadline and I don't know if they're going to get it. They've put the money on the table.
Seravalli said the Canucks are willing to sign him for essentially whatever length Pettersson is interested in, and doesn't understand what the holdup is.
Between the team's success and willingness to pay the player, the insider isn't sure what's stopping an extension.
For now the Canucks will have to continue to wait for Pettersson.
