A new team has reportedly entered the mix to land Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller before the NHL's trade deadline on Friday, March 7th.

After a hectic Friday night in the National Hockey League which saw one of the game's best players right now, Mikko Rantanen, traded to the Carolina Hurricanes, the focus on the market remains on the Vancouver Canucks and what they're going to do with J.T. Miller.

The Carolina Hurricanes were one of the teams looking to acquire J.T. Miller and had talks with the Vancouver Canucks on Friday, but opted for a bigger move in adding Mikko Rantanen, who has the fourth-most points in the National Hockey League over the last five seasons.

With Carolina now out on the East Palenstine, Ohio native, it'll be interesting to see if the New York Rangers make a push for him once again after last weekend's deal fell through, but with 41 days to go until the deadline, there's still plenty of time for new teams to enter the J.T. Miller sweepstakes.

In their updated trade bait board, which was released prior to the Mikko Rantanen deal, TSN revealed that the St. Louis Blues are now among the teams that have interest in Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller.

"Miller has had a troubled season, but still produced 33 points in 37 games after recording a career-best 103 in 2023-24.

Vancouver, in the throes of a 2-6-2 slump and coming off a stinging 6-2 loss to Edmonton on Thursday, could have incentive to make a move sooner than later.

Among teams believed to be interested in Miller are Carolina, New Jersey, St. Louis and the New York Rangers." TSN said.

The St. Louis Blues being mentioned as a team with interest in J.T. Miller isn't surprising given their need for offense and the club has some intriguing prospects for Patrik Allvin to consider including Dalibor Dvorsky, Adam Jecho and Otto Stenberg, although it's unclear if Doug Armstrong would be willing to part with any of those three.

We're officially less than six weeks away from the National Hockey League's trade deadline for the 2024-25 season and it's shaping up to be a big one, especially for the Vancouver Canucks and General Manager Patrik Allvin.
