The National Hockey League has announced a scoring change to the Vancouver Canucks' game-tying goal on Monday night against the New Jersey Devils.

After a tough loss at the hands of the New York Rangers on Saturday afternoon, the Vancouver Canucks were back in action last night against the New Jersey Devils and pulled off a big win in a shootout to keep their playoff aspirations alive.
With less than a minute remaining in the third period, Vancouver tied things up at 3-3 to force overtime and it looks like, upon review, the National Hockey League has changed who will get credit for the goal.

Late in the third period, the Vancouver Canucks pulled Thatcher Demko for the extra attacker as they looked to tie the game and get it to overtime so they could at least pick up a much needed point in the standings.
Quinn Hughes had the puck at the top of New Jersey's zone and he fired it through traffic where it was tipped and poked at before finding its way past Jacob Markstrom with only 35 seconds remaining.
Initially, the goal was given to Jake DeBrusk, who got the first touch on it, which would've been his 24th of the season, and then it was thought to be Pius Suter's second of the game, but after reviewing the play, the National Hockey League has announced a change.
In a social media post after the game, the National Hockey League's Public Relations account announced that the goal has now been awarded to Conor Garland, his 18th of the season, and is assisted by Pius Suter and Jake DeBrusk.
"OFFICIAL SCORING CHANGE: Game 1,125
@Canucks at @NJDevils

Goal at 19:24 of the third period now reads Conor Garland from Pius Suter and Jake DeBrusk. #NHLStats" NHL PR said.
It's been a pretty solid season for Conor Garland, who's on pace for a fourth straight 45+ point season and due to injuries and trades this year, has already set a new career-high for time-on-ice in a single season with 1312:51.
Garland and the Canucks will look to use last night's win as momentum for the remainder of their road trip, with their next stop being Long Island to face the New York Islanders tomorrow night.
