The team announced the signing on Monday.
Abbotsford Canucks General Manager, Ryan Johnson, announced today that the club has signed forward Jackson Kunz to a one-year AHL contract through the 2025-26 season.
Kunz will join Abbotsford on a PTO for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.
Kunz is a native of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and has played all four of his collegiate season with the University of North Dakota.
The Canucks drafted Kunz in the fourth round 113th overall in 2020, and while the 6'3, 230 pound forward hasn't been an offensive force throughout his collegiate career, his production essentially tripled in his last two seasons.
Kunz registered 45 points (24 goals, 21 assists) and 66 penalty minutes over 128 games played, and helped the Fighting Hawks program to capture the NCHC championship in 2023-24.
His new team, Abbotsford, sits 3rd in the AHL Pacific division, in nearly as tight of a playoff race as their NHL affiliate with 11 games to go.
