OUT: Vancouver Canucks Report Awful News Regarding Captain Quinn Hughes & Elias Pettersson
As the Vancouver Canucks gear up for their first game since the holiday break, head coach Rick Tocchet has confirmed some disappointing news regarding captain Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson.
The injury bug has been a made its what through the Vancouver Canucks locker room all season long, and the next two culprits are some of the biggest difference makers for the team.
«Pettersson got banged up, tried for one more shift and didn't feel right. Tocchet added that he doesn't think the injury is too bad, especially with the holiday break coming up.»
Captain Quinn Highes was a game time decision in the very same matchup with the San Jose Sharks, and although playing, it was rumored that he had been battling a hand injury.
Vancouver Canucks announce that Elias Pettersson and Quinn Highes probably will not play against the Seattle Kraken.
Even with the entire week off from hockey, i was reported that both Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson did not attend practice today, which clearly has fans worried.
Unfortunately, it was later confirmed by head coach Rick Tocchet that the two superstars are highly doubtful to play in the matinee matchup with Seattle Kraken on Saturday (December 28th).
He also added that he is still unsure if the injuries are expected to be long-term.
Tocchet was asked if the Pettersson and Hughes injuries were long-term:
"It's hard to speculate. I don't know if it's day to day or week to week. They're going to go see their people."
Hopefully the injuries are not too serious, but after this long of a break, it is not looking good.
